Hello to all-

Thank you for taking the time to follow Field Guide through some of our starting months. Field Guide itself is a cumulation of multiple years of prototype companies and ideas, with this being the latest and greatest venture. Throughout all of these companies, our goal remains concise: to provide consistent and high quality value that's centered around simplicity.

Field Guide as a business comes from a issue I see quite often: the gap Artifical Intelligence creates between the educated and the uneducated. On one hand, you have people proficient in AI, who are using it in all aspects of their life to excel and succeed. On the other hand, you have the people who are interested, but simply uneducated, who are falling behind as the rest of the world takes off. This causes issues in the workforce, as those who are slower to learn are simply getting replaced by those who are fully proficient. We're here to fix that gap.

“Learning about AI can oftentimes feel too intimidating to even start. With all of the buzzwords and false information floating around, it altogether seems not only confusing, but even downright frightening. That's where Field Guide's most important philosophy comes into play: where you learn in the simplest and most engaging way possible.”

We wanted Field Guide to be the simplest, most accessible way for the uneducated to learn about AI. We wanted it to be approachable, not frightening, and most importantly: fun to use.

That's Why We Created The Field Guide Course

Our course is different than any other out there. It's much easier for those who are just starting than ever before. Our course goes over four main, crucial AI concepts that are taught easily and directly:

  • How AI Works - Learn the basics about how AI predicts patterns, uses data from training, and how it thinks differently than a person.
  • How to Use AI - Learn how to ask better questions, give context, refine responses, and turn it from a chatbot to an assistant.
  • How to Judge Outputs- Learn about spotting hallucinations, bias, overconfidence, and all other errors AI commonly makes that requires human verificaiton.
  • How to Work With AI- Learn about building workflows, how to combine AI's speed with your human judgement, and how to use it for school, work, and everyday life.

Together, these concepts combine to create a comprehensive and complete understanding of AI that's better than the knowledge of what 99% of people have. The best part: it wasn't monotonous and terrible to learn. The gap between the uneducated and the educated is closer than it has ever been.
